Study moves forward on eliminating Camden crossing The city can now hire engineers and planners to design how to remove or raise the railroad crossing in the Camden neighborhood, which has blocked traffic and posed safety risks.
Could cut travel delays and improve neighborhood access If the study leads to construction, removing the grade crossing would reduce wait times for drivers and pedestrians, improve emergency response times, and make the neighborhood more connected to the rest of the city.
Passage of Resolution authorizing acceptance of grant funding from the 2024 Federal Railroad Administration Railroad Crossing Elimination grant program and grant funding from Minnesota Department of Transportation's Infrastructure and Jobs Act match program for the Connecting Camden railroad grade separation project study.
